Feature of the Month - Sweet Basil Parmesan

Like all our flavors, Sweet Basil Parmesan is delicious as a dip, but most people buy it for othe reasons.

Doxie Mixes founder, Wendy, says it is one of her favorite salad dressings

It is also great as a marinade for fresh tomatoes

Mix Sweet Basil Parmesan with extra virgin olive oil and a few splashes of balsamic vinegar and whisk well. Cut the tomatoes in half and cover with the marinade and let them sit.  The longer they sit, the stronger the flavor is!

Because there is no milk in the ingredients (like there is with Asiago Roasted Garlic) Sweet Basil Parmesan is perfect to use with any oil based salad recipe:

Cowboy Cavier

Drain a can of black beans, a can of black eyed peas, a can of petite diced tomatoes, and a can of whole kernel corn. Chop half of a red onion (optional) and half a green pepper. (adjust that as you want. I love using red and yellow pepper too)

Mix 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil, 1/4 cup of red wine vinegar, a cup of finely chopped cilantro, 1 tablespoon of Asiago Roasted Garlic Mix the dressing, then add to the veggie mix.

Cut several large fresh tomatoes, add some thinly sliced red onion, and crumbled feta cheese.

For the dressing, mix 1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil, 2 tablespoons of red wine vinegar, and Sweet Basil Parmesan Doxie Mix.

Mix well and drizzle enough on the salad to get it coated. You could also add cucumbers or red or yellow peppers

Tortellini Pasta Salad

Cook a bag of frozen cheese tortellini per the instructions.

Mix 3/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil, 1/4 cup of white wine vinegar, and one package of Sweet Basil Parmesan and whisk (Asiago Roasted Garlic mix is also great!)

Toss cooked tortellini with the dressing and with any kind of veggies you like: sweet peppers, cherry tomatoes, onion, corn, etc. It's also great with sliced pepperoni! Chill for a few hours and serve.

One of our Doxie Mixes fans, Ginger, is a big fan of Sweet Basil Parmesan and she sent us this recipe for pork chops

Ginger writes: "All I did was put some olive oil on the chops, sprinkled some salt and pepper on them, then the Sweet Basil Parmesan Doxie Mix.
Baked at 450 for 30ish minutes until done.
I did flip them over towards the end so both sides would get brown.
Had scalloped potatoes with them."

Wendy is also a big fan of using Sweet Basil Parmesan when cooking veggies like her Air Fryer Green Beans

Crunchy, salty and insanely easy! They're good with just about any Doxie Mix, but my favorite is either Sweet Basil Parmesan or Asiago Roasted Garlic

Rinse the green beans and pat them completely dry.
Add the green beans to a large mixing bowl.
Drizzle on olive oil, then add your Doxie Mix and toss together.
Place the seasoned green beans to your air and air fry on 350 degrees F for 8-10 minutes, tossing halfway through.

You can cut any veggies, toss them in oil, and then toss them in Sweet Basil Parmesan and roast, but this recipe for Sweet Basil Parmesan Potatoes is always a crowd pleaser, especially at parties:

Slice small potatoes into slices and toss then with a little extra virgin olive oil. Then toss them with a mixture of Doxie Mixes Sweet Basil Parmesan and real parmesan cheese! Put them on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake until fork tender!

So good dipped in Doxie Mix dip as well!
