Be Like Sam I Am when it come to your business
|
|
1. Be proud of your name.
Sam I Am says it often. Make sure that you aren't hiding behind your company's logo. Be yourself!
2. Haters Don't Mean a Thing!
The other guy in the story doesn't even have a name, but he's quite clear that he doesn't like Sam I Am and will never try what he has to offer. We don’t know his name because he is not important. That guy represents people in the world who will hate on what you do, but just ignore the haters. You do you and don't let them bring your down.
3. Be Patient
Be honest, you would have given up after the 4th try, wouldn't you? Statistics tell us it takes 8-11 times of someone seeing your message before they act. Sam-I -Am is patient. He so believes in his creation: green eggs and ham that he is willing to wait. He knows eventually he’ll win him over. It’s just a matter of time. Sam-I-Am had one goal: To get that guy to try green eggs and ham. He never deviated from the goal. He stuck to his plan. We tend to get excited about our idea and start to lose focus and excitement when things start getting difficult. Stick to your plan!
4. Try Different Approaches
Sam I Am doesn't get stuck in the same old idea, he's constantly trying new ways to get the unnamed guy to try his product and finally one worked. He tried it and he liked it! If what you are doing now isn't working (old boring salesy Facebook parties, anyone?) try something else.
5. Ask Questions
Sam I Am wants to know why this unnamed dude doesn't want to try his green eggs and ham! He continues to ask questions, to find his pain points and eventually it works for him. Get to know your clients and what motivates them. Don't just sell to what motivates you.
